These Terms apply to your use of our website, job board, and candidate services. If you are a hiring client, please note your use of our services is covered by a separate written agreement and not by these Terms.
Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy form part of this agreement. Please read them.
1. Who may use the services
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract. If local law sets a higher age, you must meet that requirement.
2. Your account
You will need an account to apply for roles or upload content. Keep your login details secure. You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us right away if you think your account has been accessed without permission.
3. Candidate content and permissions
You own the content you submit, including CVs, messages, call recordings, and videos. To run our services, you grant Meritt a worldwide, non‑exclusive, royalty‑free licence to host, copy, process, transcode for technical reasons, analyse (including by using artificial intelligence and automated tools), and share your content with hiring clients for roles you apply for or discuss with us. This may include:
- Extracting skills, qualifications, and work history from your CV
- Offering optional assessments such as the Meritt Personality Profile, which uses third‑party AI voice analysis to assess certain personality traits based on the Big Five personality model (only with your consent)
All AI-assisted processing is subject to human review before any recruitment decisions are made. We will not use your videos, assessments, or other content for marketing without your permission.
4. Job board and applications
We list roles that we manage as a recruitment agency. We may edit or remove job adverts. We do not promise that any advert will lead to an interview or offer. Hiring decisions are made by our clients. We may contact referees with your permission.
5. Acceptable use
Do not misuse the services. For example, do not scrape our site, test the security of our systems, attempt to access another user’s account, upload malware, or try to reverse engineer software that powers the services. Use the services in a professional and lawful way.
6. Privacy
We are the controller for personal data we process to provide our recruitment services and operate the job board. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why we use it, and your rights.
7. Intellectual property
We own the site design, text, graphics, and other materials we create. You must not copy or reuse our content unless the law allows it or we give you permission. Candidates retain ownership of their submissions. Clients receive access to candidate materials only through separate agreements with us.
8. Third‑party links and tools
Our site may link to other websites or use tools provided by others. We are not responsible for their content or practices.
9. Maintenance and availability
The services may be unavailable at times for maintenance or due to technical issues. We will endeavour to give notice of planned downtime.
10. Ending or suspending your access
We may suspend or close your account if you break these Terms, create risk, or misuse the services. You can close your account by contacting us at info@meritt.io
11. Disclaimers
We provide the site and candidate services as they are. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, that adverts are current, or that you will receive a job offer.
12. Limits on liability
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for loss of profits, loss of business, loss of data, or other indirect loss. For free services, our total liability to you for any claims in a 12 month period is capped at £100.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the new version with the date of change. If the changes are material, we will give reasonable notice. Your continued use of the services means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes.
15. Contact
